    February 3, 2021 /

Plus a free printable for when you need to refuel! I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve been putting myself majorly on the back burner. Filling ourselves up is the only way we are able to give back and serve others, as well as our home. So if we are running on empty, we aren’t going to get very far in our relationships or goals. Enter, self care.  If you’ve been here before, you probably know my take on the term self care. Long story short, I believe we need more than the commercialized version we know today.  In searching out self care, we see these acts are often quick fixes,…

  • Life Sucks Sometimes. Minimalism Is Not Always The Answer.

    December 2, 2020 /

Minimalism. POOF! The magic answer to solve all of life’s problems. Wouldn’t it just be so dandy if minimalism was the simple answer we’ve all been searching for? I’m so sorry to break it to you guys, and to bust all the positive vibes on the minimalist internet today, but I’d say I’m a decent way down this rabbit hole and I am living proof that life can still very much suck sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, having less clutter + chaos, and enjoying the perks of simplicity does help. One of my favorite quotes is from Gretchen Rubin’s book, Outer Order, Inner Calm. “Outer order contributes to inner calm.”…

WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY?!?! I can feel the kids stuf WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY?!?! I can feel the kids stuff creeping out of control! #unfilteredswipe, party of one! Just like we reset our adult spaces, the kids and I reset theirs. Small resets daily make a big difference. So we work it into their daily rhythms. In today’s blog post (and oldie but a goodie), I share the benefits of encouraging independence in your kids daily rhythms, and of course I have this free printable included too! Join me in stories today as we tackle our quarterly toy purge + chat about daily rhythms for kids!
Fresh spread, endless possibilities! Getting a lit Fresh spread, endless possibilities! Getting a little inspo from some household friends this morning. 🪴 I can’t wait to show you when I’m done! 🤩 The rain this morning reminded me spring is right around the corner. Perfect motivation for a fresh start this month and clarifying a few goals + trackers in my monthly spread. What are you hoping this month brings? Also... please enjoy this #unfilteredswipe of my Sunday morning view. Life with four kids is never dull.
Each week for #throwitthursday I give a space in o Each week for #throwitthursday I give a space in our home a little love. Nothing big or crazy. Maybe just purge a drawer, or tidy a closet. Today, I chose to focus on contentment in our living room. It’s always been one of my lesser fave spaces. So I’m choosing to give it some love for #throwitthursday and shop our home to use what we already own. It definitely spruced up the space a bit and makes it more homey for sure! And because Eric and I are opposite, per usual, which is your fave #unfilteredswipe? Colorful spine out, or book pages out?!
I’m curious, when did our perception of successf I’m curious, when did our perception of successful relationships become so heavily weighted by negative quotes sprinkled all over social media? Am I the only one whose fallen victim to them? In early marriage I struggled. I was suckered in to quotes implying marriage was one size fits all. And when our marriage didn’t fit, I felt like a failure. So today on the blog I’m sharing our early marriage experience and how we choose to combat anti marriage culture with some marriage positivity, date night check ins, and this FREE Date Night Check In printable!
(( link in bio )) A little nervous today. 😬 Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this one!
My goal this week, dream. There’s a necessary hu My goal this week, dream. There’s a necessary human element missing from our lives and it has a lot to do with embracing the empty space + letting our minds wander. We set our children up for boredom so they can grow in creativity, imagination and independent thought. But what about us? I think we need a little bit of boredom too. What do you think? Are you craving the quiet of boredom? Loving this weekly spread more and more as I embrace the empty space. Not going to lie, at first it felt a little awkward. But I’m loving pushing the boundaries, and even letting a little bit of that creative space spill into the structure of my day columns. 😍 TAP planner is available for digital download on my blog, link in bio!
Baby roots. 🤩 What’s on your Saturday agenda? Baby roots. 🤩 What’s on your Saturday agenda? I’m planning to give my plants a thorough assessment today. I can tell they need some love. #unfilteredswipe I get the vibe Zoe the ZZ isn’t doing too hot. I mean maybe I’m wrong, but it’s legit like I can sense her mood and she isn’t happy. I’m crazy, right?! Thinking she needs a new spot for a while. All and any input welcome! 🙏🏻
