  • Life Sucks Sometimes. Minimalism Is Not Always The Answer.

    December 2, 2020 /

Minimalism. POOF! The magic answer to solve all of life’s problems. Wouldn’t it just be so dandy if minimalism was the simple answer we’ve all been searching for? I’m so sorry to break it to you guys, and to bust all the positive vibes on the minimalist internet today, but I’d say I’m a decent way down this rabbit hole and I am living proof that life can still very much suck sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, having less clutter + chaos, and enjoying the perks of simplicity does help. One of my favorite quotes is from Gretchen Rubin’s book, Outer Order, Inner Calm. “Outer order contributes to inner calm.”…

  • GOING SIMPLE :: WEEK 5 :: Storage

    October 19, 2020 /

We’ve made it through bathrooms, kitchens, clothing and toys. But are you thinking, “Amy, there’s so many spaces left untouched in my home!” Well… here’s the deal. The rest, it’s just storage. How to tackle storage spaces in your home. This week, let’s really consider what we are keeping in the remaining areas of our home. Are the things we store actually necessary? Are they truly purposeful to our daily lives? Once we take a hard look at the rest of our spaces we realize a lot of it we don’t actually need after all. These spaces might even be large sources of frustration. This week is the time to…

    October 12, 2020 /

Plus a FREE Printable to get you started! Week four, TOYS! One of the most impactful weeks in a home with children. When we first decided to go simpler in our home, we were overrun with toys. The first Christmas after Going Simple, we were gifted over 50 toys between from family. I don’t know about you, but our home cannot hold 50 toys, let alone 50 new sets on top of the toys we already own. Since going simple, we’ve requested family give intentionally. We recommend gifts that fall into the following categories: edible treats, experiences, arts and craft supplies (perishable!), and toys with intention and purpose. Did you…

  • GOING SIMPLE :: How did we get into this mess?

    September 27, 2019 /

Starting Monday I’ll be leading a group of women to life with less. I. Am. So. Excited. To join the private Facebook Group + Going Simple Challenge, click here! But before, or even as we get started, we need to recognize how we got here in the first place. Part of simplifying is recognizing our mistakes so we don’t repeat them, and fill our homes and lives back up with all the STUFF we are trying to get rid of. Why I Went SIMPLE. My simplifying started because we were moving out of our first home. A home we lived in for over seven years. You can surprisingly accumulate a…

Laying in bed last night, I felt the strongest conviction. All these emotions came up. About where I started as a mom, and a wife. As a woman. And where I am now. So much work to do still. But I feel like I’m finally settling in to my jeans. You know? Like a really nice pair of jeans. Where they fit great, they’re breaking in in all the right places. And your confidence starts to get downright dangerous. If you’re an office fan, think Michael Scott in his jeans. Girl, that’s how I’m feeling about LIFE right now. And it’s not that I came here to toot my own…

Your Jump-Start to Minimalism, and Simple Parenting Too!

    September 18, 2020
One person’s messy, is another person’s clean. One person’s messy,
is another person’s clean. One person’s fit,
is another persons fat. One person’s busy,
is another person’s slow. One person’s new,
is another person’s old. One person’s joy,
is another person’s pain. One person’s starting point,
is another person’s finish line. Life is subjective. Do you. Celebrate others. Give thanks. Be kind.
Rainy day vibes and a toddler who still insists on Rainy day vibes and a toddler who still insists on winter gear. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just wanting to show up in your feed today and remind you that we can see, appreciate and celebrate the sweet moments of life, while simultaneously living with the mess, chaos and lived in corners. It doesn’t have to be an either or. We can do both. So what are you going to let slide today? How will you rest? Who can you love? What can you celebrate? I’ll be doting over my people, my plants, my Savior, and myself today. Oh yeah... and maybe the bathrooms. Also, one of my plant babies bloomed this morning, I’ll have to show her later in stories! 🤩
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future.
And life is worth living just because He lives. Wishing you all a blessed Easter. 💚
Pretending I can keep things like live moss bowls Pretending I can keep things like live moss bowls + full coffee mugs on our coffee table for this pic. Pretend with me. 😂 Kids, man. It’s been awhile, I miss home diy projects! What’s the last one you did in your home? Bc now I’ve got the itch again to all kinds of things around here! This was a nerve wracking DIY. I just kept telling myself “it’s just paint Amy, it’s just paint.” Three coats of primer and two coats of paint later... loving how much lighter the room feels now! 🤩 So please enjoy the #unfilteredswipe in today’s post. I call it “Progression Of An Awkward Corner Fireplace.” Now I just need to convince Eric to be team DIY over-grout for the stone section. Anyone have experience with that technique?
A while ago I asked for rec's on long lasting nail A while ago I asked for rec's on long lasting nail polish. Bonus points for healthy ingredients. Your submissions did NOT disappoint. 💕 #sponsored I am 100% obsessed with Dazzle Dry, it's legit magic and lasts 10-14 days chip free! Check stories today for an update, I’m on DAY 11 with NO CHIPPING! Even after digging through a bag of river rocks, harvesting moss, and planting this moss bowl centerpiece. Oh, and deep cleaning the kitchen. It legit looks like I JUST did this mani. 🤩 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My go to color is usually a blush, but I'm really digging this Rose Princess. I tend to lean toward the pink hues. What's your fave every day polish color? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But not sure if the inch plant will do well bc we only have a north facing window in this room. I’m really stubborn and want her to stay in here though. Someone tell me she’ll be okay?! 😩 #unfilteredswipe 180° room check: a toddler was here.
