  • GOING SIMPLE :: WEEK 3 :: Clothes

    October 5, 2020 /

    Are we really at WEEK THREE already?! This challenge has been flying by! I’m so excited to see the community over on Facebook growing and flourishing. I’m even more excited to see where it leads after this challenge is over! To join the private Facebook Group + Going Simple Challenge, click here! Clothes. I’ve tried the backwards hanger method. I’ve tried the “pull out what you haven’t worn in 6 month’s” method. And in and out of pregnancies, postpartum and nursing seasons, things like Project 333 just didn’t work for me. Breaking things down to smaller sections works. It makes the task more manageable, less overwhelming, and creates simpler decision making.…

  • Your Jump-Start to Minimalism, and Simple Parenting Too!

    September 18, 2020 /

    PLUS, a free printable that breaks down the path we took to minimize our home, and introduce a simpler life to our family! Since a recent post in a minimalist mama’s group got a lot of attention, I’ve had a few DM’s asking where to get started. I thought this was a great opportunity to share the steps I’ve taken, bloggers I’ve followed, books I’ve read and podcasts I’ve enjoyed while creating a more minimalistic home life for my family. The links in the post are a part of the Amazon Affiliates Program. This means I get a small percentage back from Amazon from any potential purchase. This is what…

  • How To Create a Master + Nursery Suite

    August 21, 2018 /

    There are a few reasons you could end up on this blog post. You co-sleep. And you want to find a way that cohesively blends your baby’s space with your master without looking like primary colors just threw up all over your serene Pottery Barn-esque haven. You live in tight quarters. Perhaps merging your soon to be parenthood with your previous bachelor lifestyle has you up in arms. And your one bedroom apartment feels like it just can’t hang. You have a split level home. And you can’t fathom the idea of babies sleeping upstairs while you lie awake every night, wide eyed, squinting at the monitor to look for…

What do you do for cuticle care? Since starting a What do you do for cuticle care?
Since starting at home manis, one of my fave things I’ve learned is how to properly care for my cuticles! It’s really not that hard, and it makes for a v professional looking at home mani!
1. Before nail prep, apply cuticle oil. Moisturizing is the best thing you can do to improve your at home manicure! Dry nails flake, break and split. So give them some love and moisturize them!
2. Push them back. Do this after oil application to prep nails and keeps mani looking clean.
3. Lightly buff cuticles. This is a super easy, gentle way to rid your nail of the excess cuticle (the dead skin you just pushed back) from your manicure at home. No trimming required.
4. Apply cuticle oil. When? Before prep. Morning, Noon. And night. And even a little more in between. Just apply a small amount onto your cuticle/nail bed and massage in to increase blood flow to the nail.
5. Slugging. You may have heard of it for skin care. But how about for your nails too! Before bed apply cuticle oil, then slather some petroleum jelly on top to lock in moisture.
I added slugging into my bedtime routine each night right after applying cuticle oil and it has made a WORLD of difference in my cuticles staying moisturized!
What are your thoughts? Easy enough right?! Anything I’m missing, share below!
