  • Meet TAP: The Accountability Planner

    January 13, 2021 /

Who says you can’t have it all? Finally, simple home management, meets bullet journal, meets planner.  An interactive, simple, step by step guide to find balance between personal goals + tasks, family life and home management. TAP. Finally an acronym that works to my favor. The Accountability Planner has been years in the making. Literally, each and every week for the last three years, I have written out the bones to my planner pages.  Check boxes for my daily *must do* items: Soul Care, Daily Rhythms, Cleaning Rhythms and a few personal trackers. And each year, I get a new planner, and yet the bones to my week never change. …

I’m lazy. There. I said it. And I think because I’m lazy, I by default find the most efficient ways to accomplish my to do’s. Because the less hard I have to work at it, the more likely I am to accomplish it. Planners are all the rage lately, and spending $50+ on a planner each year, not including accessories, has quickly become the trend. The time invested in to bullet journals and the like is so cool if that’s your thing. But this lazy, frugal mama just doesn’t have the time to dedicate to that much planner prep. Nor do I want to invest that type of money in…

Today’s mini declutter: pick a drawer! Any drawe Today’s mini declutter: pick a drawer! Any drawer!
And for those of us feeling extra bold today… you can go for the least fave, most stressful drawer in the house. I know we all have one. 😉
Today I picked what I call the “husband drawer” which is this lovely spot inside our laundry room right when we walk in from the garage. It’s Eric’s space to put all his pocketish items (that’s a word, right?) and any other random things that men acquire. Why do they acquire all these random things?!
I took a quick 10 and reset it this morning. And I have to tell you, just KNOWING it is peaceful behind that closed drawer is making me feel so good! ☀️
So tell me, which drawer will you be refreshing today?!
Each week I pick one focus to tweak my life a bit, Each week I pick one focus to tweak my life a bit, simplify when needed, and try to make sure I’m doing my part to take care of myself. I call this my weekly • go simple task • and there’s a big ole blank space in my planner to fill in and dream up the life I want to cultivate for myself.
Sometimes the task is big: last week was spring swap for the whole house and family! 😅
And some weeks it’s small: like this week, it’s a mini declutter spree, whatever space I feel needs my attention each day.
Join in with me this week as I commit to decluttering a small spot in my home each day. And add in a self care task for yourself too! Yoga is my jam, what is yours?!
Today’s mini declutter: kitchen counters! Will you be joining in? Let me know how they go for you in the comments! 🤎
When it’s almost dinner time, your husband is ou When it’s almost dinner time, your husband is out of town and your kid gets sick out of nowhere and you have to take four kids into town solo for emergency meds.
BUT then on the way to town your low fuel light comes on, because in your marriage you are the low fuel light person. 🤦🏻‍♀️😬
So what do you do?! You panic call husband because it’s a school night and nobody’s eaten and now you have to make multiple stops in town. And he saves the day by remote ordering curbside dinner from @kwiktrip via the Kwik Rewards app.
So you get gas, then you just pull up to a parking spot AND THEY BRING YOU A FULL MADE TO ORDER DINNER RIGHT TO YOUR CAR WINDOW! 😭😩🤩
I cannot tell you how thankful I was when they walked that dinner bag out to me. Small town service with modern day perks. Reason 184726384972 why we love @kwiktrip! 😍
It’s no secret on here I try to be mindful of ou It’s no secret on here I try to be mindful of our family’s screen time. It’s also no secret that this is a constant work in progress, with daily slip ups on our goals, especially my personal ones.
I try to dedicate weekends to no social, but yesterday I felt a strong pull to take a weekday and step away. The insane productivity I have when eliminating social always blows my mind. And the sweet slowness of afternoons with toddlers at home while the bigs are at school are impossibly perfect and it kills me I lose so many of them to these digital spaces.
Yesterday we took a walk, albeit not a very productive one. 😂 We found tons of ladybugs (or imposters?!). We looked at all the flower buds. We spruced up some outdoor decor spots. We sipped tea for an hour and played pretend (not my fave thing but it was so fun to watch my girls’ imagination at work).
I love so much about this space. The creative inspiration. The connection, motivation and accountability. There are positives here. And I’m so thankful for them.
There are also so many opportunities lost when I give my time to here too. Afternoons like yesterday are the perfect reminder to reinforce my personal tech boundaries. Because this is it. We only get this life once. And yesterday was such a good reminder to me in how I want to spend it.
