Easy Fudge Brownies Everyone Will Love!
Guess who’s back? Back again? Brownies back. Tell a frienddddd!!!
Okayyyy. Yes. Brownies are BACK and they are BETTER than before. Simplified recipe. Still the same fudgy goodness. And SKILLET approved!

Feel free to make these in your favorite 8×8 bakeware. you can double the brownie batch for a 9 x 13 dish.
But my personal recommendation, turn this simplified fudgy brownie recipe into a brownie pizza by using your favorite cast iron skillet for an epically amazing brownie show down.
I love this recipe because it’s a simplified version of our original brownie recipe. Easier ingredient measurements. Still the same awesome one bowl for mixing. Less dishes means more time to eat and enjoy all the brownies.
When combining this amazing recipe with the flavorful goodness a cast iron skillet provides, we end up with a really epic brownie dessert anyone will love!
So let’s get cookin’ shall we?

How to make simple and delish fudge brownies in your favorite cast iron skillet!
Jump to RecipePrep
First you will need to gather your ingredients: sugar, butter, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking powder, salt, mini chocolate chips, one spatula, one large mixing bowl, and your baking dish of choice (pick the cast iron skillet, you won’t regret it).
Preheat your oven to 350℉.
TIP: Preheat your cast iron skillet inside your oven!
Grab your large mixing bowl. Add your sugar, butter, and cocoa powder. Microwave these ingredients 30 seconds at a time, mixing in between, until the butter is melted, and the mixture is well blended.
Add in your vanilla, mix. Then add the eggs. Mix.
Add your flour and baking powder, mix it until combined.

Now you’re ready to grab your preferred baking dish. If you are a cast iron junkie, now is your time to shine! Grab the preheated cast iron skillet, and grease bottom and sides if skillet with butter.
Have you checked out my recent post on loving your cast iron skillet in five simple steps? Find it here!
When going the traditional route with a baking dish, now is when you’ll grab your dish and grease thoroughly.

Pour batter into dish, and sprinkle with salt of choice and mini chocolate chips. Trust me. The sweetness of the fudge brownies paired with the crunchy saltiness of the salt sprinkles is the exact combo you need in your life right now.
My favorite salt? Coarse ground kosher. Think of me as your food therapist. I’ll collect payment later. 😉

Bake
Next you’ll place your dish in the preheated oven, and set your timer for 30 minutes. Once the timers up, check to make sure the brownie edges are pulling away from the edges of the pan slightly.
Now you’ll set your brownies out to cool in their pan. I prefer to set them on a baking rack for optimal air flow and a quicker cool down period. Who has time to wait hours and hours for brownies? Definitely not I.
Enjoy
Once cooled, dig in! But… if you’re after that perfectly cut, crisp brownie edge, don’t stop now! Once the pan is cool to the touch, you can move it to the fridge to continue cooling until chilled (about 1 to 2 hours).

After you’ve let your skillet and brownies fully cool, remove your pan or cast iron from the refrigerator, trace the edges of the brownie with a butter knife to loosen it from your dish.
To flip your brownies out of your skillet, set your baking rack upside down on top of the skillet, and flip the pan upside down. Wiggle a bit if you need to, but your brownies should slip right out of your dish, whole!

I prefer to flip them back upright, using a large butcher block or cutting board. If you used a skillet, you are left with one epically large brownie pizza. AMAZING! Slice it up pizza style. Then dig in!

Enjoy these brownies solo, pair them with a classic glass of milk, or go crazy with a decadent a la mode treat. After all, you deserve it! So TREAT YO SELF!
Our kiddos love this recipe because its simple, no fuss. They can manage this recipe because the measurements are simple.
One stick of butter, simple scoops of basic ingredients, hand mixing in one bowl for great sensory exploration. And lots of spatula licking!
Im so excited to share this updated version of our original brownie recipe with you. I hope you enjoy these simply best fudge brownies as much as we do! Please share in the comments how they work for you!
