DIY Salt Dough Simple House Ornament (PRINTABLE TEMPLATE!)

You guys! I love that you are enjoying my DIY house ornament so much over on my Insta! When I put something in my stories, and I get so much feedback from y’all, it makes me feel so validated! Like there are actual people out there listening to me! 😂

Well because you loved these so much, I created a super simple template, directions included, so you can make these easy house ornaments too! Because y’all know I’m alllll about a simple hack with whatever I have laying around the house.

All you need for these simple salt dough house ornaments are some salt, flour, water, and my free printable template. They’re super simple to make, and I really love the imagination they provoke with the kiddos!

Salt Dough Ingredients Needed

1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Salt
1/2 Cup Warm Water
OPTIONAL: Food Coloring

Tips!

Make sure your water is warm, but not too hot! The water temp helps mold the dough.

If you want a variety of colored houses, make mini batches of dough. 1/4 cup salt, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup warm water is the perfect recipe for a small batch. It yields three houses.

If using food coloring, remember to add your coloring to your warm water FIRST, then add the water to your dry ingredients, this makes for an even color and quicker mixing.
