The Jesus Storybook Bible

This storybook bible is a beautiful resource to use not just during the Advent season, but year round to share simple versions of stories from the bible. Our children love this book, we cherish it as a family. And the free printable mentioned above is designed to pair with the illustrations / free printable ornaments we use on our advent calendar tree to tell the story of Christmas to our children. The back of each ornament points you to the exact page number to read from each day. It doesn’t get much simpler than that!

Free Printable Advent Story Ornaments

We have used the same free Advent ornament printable pack every year for the last three years to help simply tell the story of Christmas for our four small children. The illustrations are beautiful. And when you print this document two sided, it easily matches up with correlating bible verses to read throughout the season.

A Simple Advent Tree Tip + Bringing It All Together

Instead of purchasing or crafting expensive Advent calendar systems, you can simply hang the printable Advent ornaments on your tree. Or do like us and use a dedicated tree trimming, like featured in this post on Instagram. Hang it on your wall, stick it in a vase, whatever you’d like.

Advent doesn’t have to be so complicated. Or cost a fortune.

Each night we:

  • Give the kids the new ornament for the day + hang on the calendar
  • Read the correlating story from their bible
  • Do family activity we have planned for the day

Whether the planned activity is big (heading out to a community event), or small (enjoying a Christmas cookie together), it doesn’t matter. Because we do it together, the kids love it.

I hope these resources are found helpful by your family and enlighten you this holiday season.

With the sincerest of blessings, happy holidays, from our home to yours.
