RECIPE :: Half Cake Day
Yesterday was a half cake day. What’s a half cake day you ask? Well, let me tell you. It’s a day where everything is spinning out of control and you JUST. NEED. IT. ALL. TO. SLOW. DOWN. So. You make a cake. The process of scooping, mixing, baking, cooling, flipping, more cooling, whipping, frosting, and all of the waiting in between has a very therapeutic effect. I’m forced to slow down, let go of the lesser important things and focus on myself, and the eager little hands around me. The links in the post are a part of the Amazon Affiliates Program. RECIPE :: Yummiest Protein Bites
If you’re a mom and you were born after 1980, chances are you’ve made protein balls a time or two. We’ve tried a ton of recipes on Pinterest, but this has by far been our favorite hybrid of them all. So today we wanted to share our fave protein ball recipe with you. We think a few additional simple pantry ingredients really add some flavor you’ll like too! Ingredients 1 cup oats 3/4 cup nut butter of choice 1/2 cup crushed pretzels 1/2 cup chia seeds 1/3 cup honey 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips 1 TBSP coconut oil (melted) 1 tsp vanilla extract Substitutes To make your protein balls nut…
RECIPE :: Sausage+Pepper+Cauliflower Fried Rice
So easy. So quick. So Fresh. So simple. This recipe is a new go to in our household. And even better yet if you use these awesome chicken sausages from Aldi! Tomato & Basil is our fave, but so many of their flavors would go well with this dish! I was surprised how simple it was to make cauliflower rice, which is a stellar alternative for those on Keto, Whole30 or Paleo diets. I loved this recipe and hope you do too! RECIPE :: Peanut Butter Baked Oatmeal
Throwing up the link to this recipe because it is free of refined sugars, gluten, dairy, and (if you want) egg! Also because my oatmeal despising four year old just asked for thirds! We did decide to throw a few chocolate chips on the top before baking, which, yum. But also, not necessary if you’re limiting your sugars. This healthy baked oatmeal recipe from Joy Food Sunshine knocked it out of the park for our first attempt at the dish, and we can’t wait to try some more versions! RECIPE :: Zuppa Toscana Soup
I went from a Zuppa Toscana virgin to a “holy crap lets make this twice a month” addict overnight people. And it’s all because of this sweet sweet copycat recipe! And don’t take this lightly when I say the whole family is obsessed. Hubs right through the four and two year olds all have seconds (and some thirds) when we make this soup. Also, if you prefer actual onion to onion powder (too much work for me, and my tear ducts!), then feel free to sub a medium chopped onion for the powder. You’ll add it in with the bacon after bacon is cooked crispy and drained. Sautee a few…

RECIPE :: Bacon Meatloaf + Mashed Cauliflower
Tonight’s dinner was AMAZEBALLS. Low carb, so delish, and zero bloat afterward. As I typed this I told my husband that I feel like I could go for a hike right now. It’s so crazy how much energy and how little bloat we both have since starting a more Keto friendly diet! The links in the post are a part of the Amazon Affiliates Program. Creamy Chicken Wild Rice Soup + The Easiest Italian Bread
I’ve been loving the rhythm we’ve added to our dinners lately. Giving each weekday a theme makes it so much easier to meal plan and prep. It also adds great predictably for our children. Slow Cooker Saturday has surprisingly become one of their faves. To learn more about how we plan a months worth of dinners in 10 minutes, and get the free printable I use to do it, click here! I never thought my toddlers would eat soup, let alone beg for seconds. But getting their little hands involved, which is super easy with dump and set crock pot dinners, has them so intrigued and excited to sample the…
BEST brownies ever
I’m going to give it to you straight, these were the best, and easiest brownies I’ve made to date! So good. So fudgy. And only one bowl required. One bowl recipes are my kind of recipes. It’s a really great recipe because it uses things I always keep stocked in my pantry, so I can pull up this recipe and whip up a pan of brownies in no time. Perfect for days like today, when we are in a Wisconsin blizzard warning! The links in the post are a part of the Target Affiliates Program. the BEST chocolate chip cookies
Many thanks to my kids’ Alpha-Bakery cookbook from Gold Medal for this recipe! I have no idea where we got this cookbook (my suspicions and weak memory tell me it’s from our baby shower), but it’s definitely a vintage thrift that I’m so obsessed with. It’s the ONLY cookbook we have in our home. And every recipe I make out of here is legit GOLD (no pun intended). The links in the post are a part of the Amazon Affiliates Program.
