Week Four of The Going Simple Challenge, we declutter + toy organization. Plus a FREE Printable to get you started! Week four, TOYS! One of the most impactful weeks for a home with children. November 7, 2022 /

Week Three of The Going Simple Challenge, we declutter + clothing organization. Clothing organization and clutter holds us to a different standard. It just feels more personal. We purchase clothing in hopes of who we want to become. Or maybe we are holding on to someone we once were.  But maybe the most unfortunate of all is that often, our clothing does not represent who we actually are in this specific season of life. That is where we feel most frustration with clothing organization and decluttering. As we enter into our clothing storage this week, we might feel things like defeat, guilt, discouragement. This week we are going to focus on the…

Week One of the Going Simple Challenge: bathrooms. During this challenge we are going to focus on building our decision making muscle with some bathroom organization, and decluttering too! We are also going to work on making progress. But most importantly, we will work on slowing down to enjoy life. So after you finish decluttering, refreshing and organizing your bathrooms this week, you may be tempted to “jump ahead.” But I ask, instead let’s stop. Rest. Relax. And enjoy the progress we’ve made for just a bit. Then,…

Each week as part of the TAP Planner system, I pick an area of focus to simplify our home or life. Sometimes it’s a personal goal (movement or reading more), and other weeks I focus on a home project or task. This week’s Go Simple Focus is resetting our laundry space. Broken down into bite sized tasks, yesterday I decluttered the entire space. And today I actually scrubbed this room head to toe for the first time since we moved in six months ago! So I thought I might as well take some snapshots and share the space with you today! Here’s a peek inside the laundry + mudroom that…

Each year I love to end this challenge with a space of thought and intention. Also known as Week Six. The final week in the Going Simple Challenge. The beginning of this challenge is all about our things. Simplifying, leaving, loving, and sometimes learning to re-love them. But I don’t want to ditch you in a space where you are hyper focused on your things. That is not what life should be about. Instead, let’s start learning to go deeper with life, and let our things be as they should. Background music in our life. This week, how we choose to live is taking center stage. Welcome to the 2021…

Hey guys! So glad you are joining me for another round of the Going Simple Challenge. This year, some things will be the same! But some things will look a little different. Let’s chat about that quick. It’s no mystery that the last few years we have been going through it. I think it would be silly of me to come onto your screens with the same energy that I have brought previous years. Because honestly, especially when it comes to social media, I don’t have it. And I’m guessing some of you are in the same boat. So as we start the 2021 Going Simple Challenge, I think we…

Plus a free printable for when you need to refuel! I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve been putting myself majorly on the back burner. Filling ourselves up is the only way we are able to give back and serve others, as well as our home. So if we are running on empty, we aren’t going to get very far in our relationships or goals. Enter, self care.  If you’ve been here before, you probably know my take on the term self care. Long story short, I believe we need more than the commercialized version we know today.  In searching out self care, we see these acts are often quick fixes,…

As a mom of four daughters, and lots of toys with As a mom of four daughters, and lots of toys with TINY pieces, I’ve found the easiest way to store these items is just to toss ‘em in a bin. Our kids seem to play regardless of how organized their toys are.
I do agree with the sentiment “less is always more” to encourage and spark the urge to play! But when it comes to fancy organization, sorry, that’s never been our jam.
In fact? Half the time, the toy bins are all intermixed and guess what… the kids still play! I usually only sort them back out when I’m going through a toy declutter, and I fully recognize I’m sorting and organizing primarily for MY OWN satisfaction.
That being said, no two kids, and no two toy collections, are the same. So when it comes to setting up organization in your home, be it a play space or a bathroom cabinet, do it so it works for YOU.
What are your thoughts?

Why share this? Because I held on to my coffee dep Why share this? Because I held on to my coffee dependency every day because I was scared of quitting. I had heard some horror stories of how bad quitting it was. And I was wimping out.
While working with my provider, recent lab results showed how severely my body was stuck in fight or flight mode, and I knew I had to make changes for myself. Coffee was one of the first (and actually easiest) habits I needed to address.
And while some personalities do well with tapering out a habit, others do not. Hi, I’m the others! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I knew if I didn’t quit cold turkey I probably wouldn’t be successful.
So I swapped my coffee with other warm mugs like herbal teas and hot lemon water, and I just went for it.
The fatigue on days one and two were present, not going to lie! But they definitely weren’t as bad as I had anticipated. The headache, now that was pretty miserable. However, overall it only really lasted about a day and a half. And looking back, was NOTHING to be scared of!
Curious about ditching caffeine? Have you done it before? I’d love to hear your thoughts or questions!
PS… I don’t plan to stay cold turkey forever. I actually had a small cup on day 6 and I was surprised how INSTANTLY I felt the caffeine induced anxiety kick in. I actually haven’t had a drop of caffeine since, because in this moment it just doesn’t feel worth it. 🤎

Do you try before you buy?! The amount of money Do you try before you buy?!
The amount of money we save by shopping our home before heading out to buy something we ‘need’ … I wish I had kept a running total all these years! Received this cute little buddy as a gift, but had no small planters on hand. Welp… that’s nothing a little creative thinking, a quick shop your home moment, a few coffee mugs and some bristle blocks can’t fix! Just don’t tell my kids about the blocks part. 😂😂
