  • Function Meets Family of Six in our new Laundry + Mudroom

    February 9, 2022 /

Each week as part of the TAP Planner system, I pick an area of focus to simplify our home or life. Sometimes it’s a personal goal (movement or reading more), and other weeks I focus on a home project or task. This week’s Go Simple Focus is resetting our laundry space. Broken down into bite sized tasks, yesterday I decluttered the entire space. And today I actually scrubbed this room head to toe for the first time since we moved in six months ago! So I thought I might as well take some snapshots and share the space with you today! Here’s a peek inside the laundry + mudroom that…

    April 28, 2021 /

We live in a world where everything is linkable, buyable, shareable. But what if we spun the script. What if instead of shopping for our next need, we explored the option of upcycling? I know it goes against everything in our consumer driven world to encourage living with less. But today on the blog I wanted to share with you many of my upcycled pieces to provoke some creative thought. And in the process, hopefully, spark some light to live with a little less waste. Did you know you can Pin any of these photos to save them by giving them a simple TAP! How many things do you think…

  • Ten Completely Free and Simple Ways to Self Care

    September 25, 2020 /

Self care is all the rage for today’s mama. And I get it. Less martyr. More intention. Being a good mom doesn’t mean you sacrifice every moment of every day. But now we’ve created a cross culture, where if you aren’t getting these luxurious self care moments, you aren’t momming right either. And this can leave us feeling even more depleted. A few years in to parenting I felt so frustrated. We are told because we are moms, we deserve all this luxurious me time. Elaborate (and expensive) pampering sessions, endless beauty products, time away from my kids. So why wasn’t it happening? And when I did take that time,…

I love that we are all starting the year off with a big simplifying kick! Having a team approach definitely helps keep the motivation; hopefully it’s the same for you. Organizing pantries and kitchen cupboards is one of the main questions I receive. And I hear you, our kitchen in our old home was an organizational nightmare! Our cupboards were constantly overflowing. The links in the post are a part of the Amazon Affiliates Program. This means I get a small percentage back from Amazon from any potential purchase. This is what keeps my blog running, and keeps me home with my babies every day. So thank you for your…

  • Simple royal icing recipe ANYONE can master!

    December 10, 2018 /

I get it, royal icing can be super intimidating. But I assure you, if I can do it with a zip lock baggie, then so can you. This recipe is super simple, doesn’t require any fancy ingredients or tools, and I truly believe anyone can master it. My husband even told me, “I’ll give you the frosting, you do have really good frosting.” And my people, that means a lot, because in the kitchen, I pretty much stink at mastering recipes! It will blow you away when you dominate this recipe! I gotchu girl! Simple Royal Icing Ingredients 1 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar (powdered sugar) 2 tablespoons milk (your choice)…

    December 9, 2018 /

One of my favorite holiday traditions has fast become baking Gingerbread cookies with my girls. There’s something so soothing about piping a clean white icing onto the sweet smelling little guys. It gets me all nostalgic every year. Plus, not having to mess with food coloring for the frosting just makes it all so much simpler.  Aaaaand… I love getting creative with their wardrobe. I mean, if you can’t have fun with your gingerbread bois, are you even living?! So alas, I’m here today to share my gingerbread bois with you, and their hella yummy recipe. I’m linking to my icing recipe as well so you can make some super easy…

    August 21, 2018 /

There are a few reasons you could end up on this blog post. You co-sleep. And you want to find a way that cohesively blends your baby’s space with your master without looking like primary colors just threw up all over your serene Pottery Barn-esque haven. You live in tight quarters. Perhaps merging your soon to be parenthood with your previous bachelor lifestyle has you up in arms. And your one bedroom apartment feels like it just can’t hang. You have a split level home. And you can’t fathom the idea of babies sleeping upstairs while you lie awake every night, wide eyed, squinting at the monitor to look for…

Vitamins - daily to help with SO many things. Magnesium specifically to help with PMDD symptoms.
Proper exercise - moving away from intense workouts like HITT and running as they’re actually horrible for my AS + hashi’s (no wonder I’d feel like I’d been in a car accident for legit days after doing those types of workouts). What works for me now: yoga, Pilates, walking, strength training with lighter weights.
Trying to not wear sunglasses when I head outside for some natural vitamin d.
Trying to get sleep.
